It always seemed bizarre that we had two championship golden boot winners in the squad last season and only got three goals between them. |  |

We never really played to their strengths imo. It was a combination of having Clarke/Philogene being the main outlets, slower buildup play against deeper defences when both Akpom and Szmodics like to exploit space and playing Akpom in a role that didn’t suit him. They were square pegs in round holes for us. |  |

Still believe that he can be a useful squad player in the PL. Much better than some of the dross still on our books. Was also amazed that McK signed him but never played to his strengths. Eustace though, obviously knows.

We were for much of the season, but McKenna worked it out after the Wrexham debacle. WE lost only 1 of our last 15 games & he found a settled side & combination. Neil was a useful addition in CM, Philogene & Clarke rotated & McAteer did enough during the run-in. |  |

He's an Ipswich player on loan with clauses in the loan that means the fee at the end is dependent on how the club he is at does.
Even if he wasn't I am always interested in how former players do.

Exactly this.
Club don't want him returning in 2027, so we need him to hit a certain number of appearances/goals to trigger the obligation to buy. I'm no Derby or Eustace fan, but the transfer fee doubles to £5.4M I believe if Derby are promoted. | | | |

A 30 year old who can’t seem to stay fit and has had 1 impressive season above league 1 in his career.
I can’t imagine there were many (or any) PL clubs sniffing round him, hence he’s at Derby. |  | | |
