| Today a must not lose for me 08:04 - Aug 22 with 1355 views | Blue_Heath | Obviously want a win but it's so important we don't lose today. Our home form last time gave us no chance and this on paper is a winnable game but at the very least one where we need to get some points. | |

I look at it more from the point of view of how good it would be to get 3 points or a result. But it's the first game of the season and saying "must not lose" for the first game if the season is absolutely ridiculous and the only thing it possibly achieves is adding pressure.

This is actually a massive insight into how people think and see things differently. It seems like the overwhelming majority of people think that it was a clear, pressurised, moany post, saying we absolutely need to get something or we're doomed and rubbish and will never win for another month at absolute best. Whereas a few, who tend to be deemed generally negative saw it as some sort of call to arms and that they are the only ones wanting whats best for the club. Interesting.

Personally i'd love a 2 or 3-0 statement win BUT I feel that's far to optimistic against a side who are imo more ready for the season than we are. But you never know

| Today a must not lose for me on 09:37 - Aug 22 by Blue_Heath | You may well be correct, Ipswich results define my mood. I f we lose today I will be a miserable sod until we next win! |
It definitely sounds like you've got much more riding on a game of football than me. It doesn't define my mood at all, luckily. Guess that's why I'd rather get some happiness out of day to day thoughts and thinking, rather than needing it to all go great to make me feel good or not feel bad. That probably does make me a happy clapper! Not taking the mick, genuinely, it's interesting. I can get smaller amounts of enjoyment about the team and not be down when we lose, others need that all or nothing. I'm sure there are plenty in both camps, hence different views and reactions.

Don't want the "inevitably doomed" atmosphere amongst many fans - which will only have been boosted by last night's pasting of Coventry - to get any further encouragement. Also, all points we get now will make our task easier later on. Plus a good performance and result will help with forging the team into a unit and increasing confidence - not to mention helping make us attractive to any remaining transfers we are trying to get through the door.

Used to let football results bother me. Not anymore life too short for that. For me it’s about the event and I generally hope the opposition come and play. At the end of the day we are meant to be entertained. One of the reasons league 1 was so awful. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
