Flemming basically did the same job as Delap in their respective successful Premier League seasons so not sure how he'd be anti-climatic compared to him.

Compared to Embolo and Jesus, yes. But the return of the Son of God himself seems more likely than signing the latter!

Flemming basically did the same job as Delap in their respective successful Premier League seasons so not sure how he'd be anti-climatic compared to him.

Hmm, yeah I kind of see your point, but I think there's been a hell of a lot of revisionism on Delap after one poor season at a dysfunctional Chelsea. He's still a young striker with absolutely bags of potential and could be a 50m+ striker again. Flemming is a 28yo, with one decent PL season behind him. So yeah a slight anticlimax for me.

Seemingly, which is disappointing. Perhaps he enjoyed America over the summer, or wants an easier time of things, or we didn't offer what he wanted.

Delap is a " could " and did 2 seasons ago. Not interested in anyone with nothing to show over the past season. Flemming is a did, but is off elsewhere by the looks of it. Give me Ueda any day of the week over all of them, but that's not likely to happen either I expect, and I have a fear I know what might.
