Anyone notice how he was having a word in a few players ear right before kick off? He seems to really be taking on a leadership role in the group and making sure that the spirit stays the same.

He also had a good game. Huge energy getting up and down the pitch, though Im not 100% sure I like him in that inverted role.

Yeah I think I saw he was second out. Does seem to be vice captain.

Yeah, he's a proper leader now. Was last season too. Definite captain material if required.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

….was that the “legacy” players ran off the pitch at half time, whereas the newbies walked off.

Greaves even tried to encourage them to get a move on, some of them did.

Enciso didn’t. But I’ll forgive him.

Guess the fact it was Sunderland helped as well, seemed well up for it as a lifelong Newcastle supporter.

Might not be a standard GON wants to set, anyway.

The "legacy" players know of old that there are only eight half-time oranges for the whole squad - latecomers lose out!
