It strikes me as designing a kit purely for making money rather it actually being a change kit in the traditional sense.
Was really had to distinguish when the action was down the other end of the pitch and I'm sure there were occasions when it seemed players from both sides mistook an opposition player for one of theirs. | |

Put my hands up there. I have problems particularly with shades of red and brown. In snooker the reds and the brown often look the same to me. Just as well I never wanted to be an electrician :) |  | | |

To me that would be a shame, though of course you have a point. If teams are wearing their first-choice kit, say Milan v Napoli or Town v Blackpool or Charlton looks great. But when teams come up with these fancy weird 2nd kits, that’s when I’d agree with you. |  | | |

The replica shirts business has gone too far in my opinion and selling shirts is affecting what we see on the pitch. We had it yesterday with Leicester's second shirt which was hard to differentiate from our home shirt, and on Saturday when Sunderland turned out in pink rather than the red and white stripes they have worn at Portman Road throughout history. In various other European leagues as well as continental and international competitions it’s a thing. But in the PL it’s not but I think in rare circumstances the referee might well insist upon it.
Before the PL, teams weren’t allowed to wear the same colour shorts but when the PL was formed that requirement was dropped.
Some teams still change their shirts though - for example Man Utd wear black shirts and Everton blue when there is a clash. We used to as well until a few seasons ago. Not sure why that happened. |  | | |

In the 80s teams had to wear different colour shorts but- if there was a colour clash.
