I don't think I'm on his back. I did say some of his play tonight was brilliant, and it was. I just don't understand why, when he looks so sharp in other aspects of his play, his finishing is so off. I'm personally happy for him to stay as our third choice striker.

Such an odd performance from him. Some of his hold up play was genuinely brilliant, but his finishing was awful.

Scored 2 last season. Just needs a couple to build some confidence.

He should be re named Chuba Crapom. Total waste of £7mil!

I don't get some of our fans. We had to buy Akpom, it wasn't an option to buy, if promoted we would buy at £7M. Hindsight is wonderful and had we known now then of course we wouldn't have done that deal. How many times does this happen right across the football world? We can look back now and it would seem last summer the recruitment was hit and miss and Chuba was more of a miss than a hit, it happens.

At the time, given Chuba's previous record we thought we were getting a good deal and a player to fire the goals to get us promoted. They didn't quite happen like that. I think we have to acknowledge he was often played out of position and not given a run of games. Maybe all this hasn't helped his confidence so there could be an argument the club helped to play him out of form. I know its not that simple and there will be other things the managers and coaches will have seen in training etc that could have limited his chances.

This transfer has worked out as well as the club and fans had hoped, and suspect Chuba is all too aware of that himself. Maybe thats why he sacrificed his summer and worked really hard to get in the best shape he could be. He has definitely looked an improvement on the player we had last season. The coaches need to work on his finishing , we know he has had much higher levels in the past so maybe it's just about unlocking that. Luckily the players and staff around him were more forgiving than fans and would have been helping him rather than sticking the boot in.

Not for me, hes improved significantly since last season helped by playing in his proper position but hes still not good enough for PL in my eyes. Third choice striker probably ok
