I think it is quite possible for someone to make a very good play/run and not be Premier League quality. I don't see anyone suggesting that he is (although I am sure we all hope he is if he ends up playing in it for us!) | |

Akpom did well in general play, as you say his finishing was awful. Really could have had claimed a hat trick. Maybe Akpom is just finding himself but as a finisher when one on wirh the keeper you need to score.
Hence as has been discussed we need a first choice clinical finisher. Nothing against Akpom who no doubt with a bit of luck will start finding the back of the net. |  | | |

I don't think I'm on his back. I did say some of his play tonight was brilliant, and it was. I just don't understand why, when he looks so sharp in other aspects of his play, his finishing is so off. I'm personally happy for him to stay as our third choice striker. | | | |

Not sure anyone's really on his back, he's getting nothing but support from the crowd. Thing is though, whilst it looks like a particular lack of confidence just at the moment, he still couldn't shoot when there didn't appear to be a confidence issue last year. He's not our best option as a 10, and if he's not going to be a goal threat as a 9 it's difficult to see how we've got the time to let him play himself into form. A goal tonight could have been just what he needed, but those were four very presentable chances he missed. | | | |
