Passive to movement around him and hopelessly slow

Was probably our best defender last night.

Yep. Completely agree. But the boo boys don't watch the game properly. So he'll get it every time we lose. It's pathetic.

It’s always the way with him. He’s not a bad player but has his limits, same as anyone else. I feel a bit sorry for him too as anyone can look shaky when the defence as a whole isn’t right, and our’s certainly isn’t. He’s the one with the pace to try and get a recovery tackle in, so often ends up the last man and getting the blame. Meanwhile Diop is still trying to turn 25 yards out lol

This exactly. Greaves is being exposed by those around him. Diop has been all over the place chasing crisp packets, not holding the line and leaving huge gaps in behind which Greaves is being forced to cover. Similarly, Davis is not always there (to be expected with his attacking game) and this exposes Greaves to covering too much space.
The solution? A flexible 3-5-1-1 , especially against the top sides.

At this point, I'd rather drop Diop for O'Shea (and try Outtara or Furlong at RB) than Greaves.

Semper fidelis!

A moment in the game last night summed up the Greaves boo boys perfectly for me - and if the person is on here who I called a w@nker because of it, then I'm not sorry.

We were 2 nil down, a Liverpool player collected the ball well inside their half, running towards our left. No forward tried to close him fown then the midfield basically stood to one side to let him amble through. That suddenly left 3 or 4 Liverpool players buzzing around Greaves and Leif and outnumbered.

The previously mentioned w@nker then starts shouting at Greaves "Greaves your f**king useless, you need to close the player down quickly'.
I sat there and as usual cannot help myself and had to say to him, 'what the f**k are you talking about? Enciso didn't close him down and the midfield let him walk through but your blaming it all on Greaves'
It was at this point I had to call him a w@nker.

Pathetic is a fan expecting to lose by a hatful.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

He’s our quickest CB. He was targeted all night by Isak though. It’s fairly obvious he’s a weak defensive link, even if he does some impressive recovery work at times. It’s not his fault; he seems to give his all. And he’s all we’ve got so he needs our support.

I like Greaves. But I reckon Diop, Oshea and Davis are all quicker. We actually have a really quick back 4 to be fair.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

At what level did you play football? Premier League perhaps?
