Think he's made some mistakes but was surprised to see that he has also made the joint most number of saves in the Prem so far and has a better Save % than Roefs, Bizot, Verbruggen, Rushworth, Leno, Kinsky, Sels, Henderson and Lammens.
The Hull keeper has had an amazing start to the season but his 100% save record isn't going to last and will probably even out.
To be successful this season we probably need our keeper to have a 'top third' keeper record by the end of the season. |
I would love to see the comparison of his performance against Allison's at the other end because I felt there were a couple of times where their attack was far better at capitalising on chances than ours was and our defence didn't mop up in front of the keeper anything like as well as theirs did.
That shouldn't be a surprise as every single player in their squad is worth at least twice as much as the player in our squad that they were up against.
I think that Allison got lucky from a couple of corners/crosses and spilling a shot which were things Scherpen didn't do/get away with. Instead Scherpen was caught out by a powerful shot at his near post and getting caught out of position for the second. I hope he learns from those mistakes. Begovic has just on SSN that he is young and the improvement in decision making will come. Let's hope it does quickly. |  |

Social media has given thickos a very loud voice with the way that it has been monetised and the focus on it by large corporations. The morons are more interested in attention than the good of the team unfortunately. In all honesty if Muric was given the appropriate respect he'd probably still be our keeper now and be playing pretty well if wager. |
Yep, just like " supporters " everywhere, we have some that just love kicking someone when they're down, and never give them a chance to get up again. The first goal against Liverpool was down to errors by about 5 other players before it even got to Scherpen. Not seen any of them getting it in the neck. |  | | |

Just watched Petr Čech on Sky Sports News...absolutely brilliant insight into goalkeepers being beaten on the near post...which there were numerous incidents in the PL this weekend. Really good analysis. Refreshingly he wasn't too damming of Scherpen and took into consideration Scherpens age and said he will improve and make better decisions with more experience. Not the time to panic folks. |  |

Our fans always have to have one. Guess means McAteer is out of the frame for a few weeks. I've said this before, how can this negativity help the players. People need to think before they right, and if they can't be positive or polite probably should refrain from writing anything. Or, as its going to be a long season against a lot of very good teams, they realise this team isnt the one to support as it may upset them for many weeks of the season |
