Shrewsbury town look like the latest british club to be taken over by Americans owners, with that in mind what do we think America would do with 'soccer' if they could make it the way they want it?

End relegation, move to franchise model, give franchise clubs the ability to buy out smaller clubs in their catchment area to maximise consumer catchment.

What else have we got?

Ensure four hydrangea breaks are taken per match.

hydrangea break, chew on your favourite plant flower time. Interesting. Does that aid hydration ? 😊

1. When during a big match, the referee gets called to the sidelines by VAR to rule on a controversial decision. Loud heartbeats sounds are played over the stadiums loudspeakers prompting Ant & Dec to run onto the pitch to ask the players how they are feeling. And then as the referee is about to make a decision, Ant&Dec state ‘that we will hear that decision after the commercial break’.

2. Grudge matches. After a previous match has boiled over, the return fixture is moved to the following match with trash talking during its build-up. The return fixture being played in Saudi.

Good for them - they have their ready-made Ed Sheeran equivalent to lend them support too

Everyone in the crowd to be morbidly obese with the IQ of a baked potato.

Imagine if you gave some Americans tickets for The Den for the West Ham game in a couple of weeks time, now that would be interesting.

I could see the Americanisation of terms like "losing possession" to "transition", "up front" transfer fees becoming "front loaded", "trading" players. Also firework displays, over the top microphone histrionics from the announcer and ridiculous player profiles making stupid gestures walking up to a camera.

But I'm sure we won't let any of that happen.

Oh this is good. Inside the box 1 point, outside 2, inside the center circle 3 and from your own half 4

A ‘Harry Maquire’ will be worth 10.

God forbid....

The fireworks explosion and the ludicrous announcer as the players do that stupid gestures thing on the big screen is so utterly depressing.

The build up to football used to be great. Just the sides read out and the crowd.

Now it's like being at a bloody Taylor Swift concert.

And if he says 'YOUR Ipswich Town' one more time...

Actually a flower power era Americanisation would be interesting, everyone takes acid on entering the ground, no one cares when the match starts, The Grateful Dead play a half time set that lasts six hours and then everyone wanders off forgetting that the game is supposed to have a second half. Spectators and players alike spend the next ten years telling everyone else that you had to be there but when questioned 'Why, what happened ?' they can't remember.

I can’t believe that no one has mentioned counting down to kick off?

Why stop there though? Counting down for throw ins, penalties, or even counting up for as long as it takes for VAR to conclude that Harry Maguire handled the ball accidentally.

And don’t forget chilled fizzy p!ss masquerading as beer allowed in the stands and hydration breaks brought to you in association with those good people at Gatorade.

Oh, and presidential pardons for players from the big 6 clubs.
