I find it really odd that people go onto Twitter/X whatever else and post this stuff.
I'm sure I read on one occasion when this behaviour happened and the guy got found out etc, it was all over some bet he'd made.

I'm not surprised though. I personally know of 2 friends (ethnic Hongkongese Chinese) who were subject to racist and xenophobic comments by fellow England fans at Wembley during the 5-0 WC qualifier win over ROI in 2024. Get this straight - being racially abused by your fellow England supporters - incredulous.
Luckily haven't seen any racists amongst Town fans both home and away - guess there might be a small % though - but what's new in today's society?
There is an obvious positive correlation with the rise of racism with nativism and support for sc*m like Farage over the past couple of years. |
I am not an England fan but used to go to the odd England friendly game after work with a friend back in the mid-80s.
It was like attending a National Front rally, and unsurprisingly, I don't recall ever seeing any non-white England fans.

I've heard it in the North Stand this century, but definitely isn't common place.
We 100% have racist fans in our fanbase, probably no more than any other club and nor is representative as us as a fanbase (either now or historically) but it definitely isn't a case of it only being bots or people trying to besmirch us. Football clubs are representations of their society and unfortunately there will be a subset of both that have these views. I also don't subscribe to the 'they aren't real football fans' view as they almost certainly are. |

I suppose i was mainly talking about the 70s and contrasting our position favourably with the fans/hooligans of other clubs who frequented the North Stand.
Sadly, these days fewer black fans seem to attend our games. | | | |
