With social media just being how it is, there seems to be so much of this crap from bots accounts abroad trying to divide as well.

I remember Southgate saying that after the Euros final in 2021 that it was a major problem and that is where a lot of the abuse came from.

Absolutely there is an element of that, and we should all be careful to not accept everything in social media at face value, but look at the Facebook comments on any local news story where you could shoehorn a racial element in, and the comments from local people are horrible.

I wish more people had joined me in highlighting rampant antisemitism over ten years ago instead of looking the other way and voting for a party whilst under investigation by the EHRC for discriminating against its Jewish members. A charge it was found guilty of. Racism and hatred have never gone away. It’s just been ignored when it’s inconvenient.
