I only got as far as page 20 so far (report embedded in article as a link) but in essence
- didn’t report on time or correctly to Pl
- didn’t assist or comply
- set up sponsorship deals of which a ‘base sum’ of 10-20% was actual sum with AD lying about the rest and when caught out stayed that sponsors requested assistance with the diff of which AD ‘loaned’. Edit ~ over £800m diff between base and stated/covered up
- witnesses deemed to have blatantly lie.
Almost as if the owners are used to just acting how they want and didn’t think they’d get caught. Surprised they didn’t just try and by the PL and hide it all away.

So many reasons now why this will happen.
£800m+ in fraudulent over spend is essentially doping of a squad.
If Town could have spent £400m in this summer window rather than £190m then we survive.
Man City built a Premier League winning side illegally.
But now as stated - it’s their continued denial, it’s the huge uproar from fans/media/clubs, it’s the need to dampen separate actions with a strong punishment.
The question for Town is whether the expulsion is this season - I actually think it will be. Premier League will want them out and this closed off.

Despite the case looking rock solid and damning - indeed with Kieran Maguire suggesting that a League 2 demotion is in play!!! - Man City have come out fighting, which feels like an expulsion could end up in litigation, the can kicked down the road again and expulsion not guaranteed this season.
But litigation by what route.
Anyway Man City are calling it a conspiracy theory and claiming irrefutable evidence that is being ignored.
But again I just can’t see that the premier league can spend 2.5years and £100-150m to form a case that isn’t irrefutable.
City could really be damaging their position with this siege mentality and denial.

I think the fairest sentence would be deducting them 450odd points (based on previous punishments for infringements) and that continues through the leagues. Say they get another 70 points this season, that means next season in the Championship the start on -380 and so on and so forth. It doesn’t put the club immediately into extinction. |  | | |

Problem for them is admitting it would give them nothing to fight the very many civil cases likely to follow. Plus it's unlikely to significantly lessen the punishment. | |
