Town fans saying we shouldn’t give Man Ci£y any abuse on Saturday… 07:22 - Oct 13 with 2934 viewsITFC_Forever

Yes, we should.

As should fans of every club they play.

The whole of football needs to let them know how reviled they are and that this isn’t going away,
If there’s no response to them, they’ll think everyone’s forgotten about it and they can get away with it. The authorities will think the same.

They can’t be allowed to get away with it…. And for those who are saying it doesn’t affect us - it does. This season for a start, given their potential relegation. And the club they have become in the last 15 years is built on lies and cheating - if they hadn’t have done that; they’d be the same old accident-prone club they’ve always been.

That is your opinion but there was a report recently on Bloomberg that the Premier League initiated settlement talks with Manchester City before the verdict dropped. City pulled out. This suggests that the Premier League are not so confident. Of course the report could be wrong. I have linked an archived version of the Bloomberg report here https://archive.ph/1nhl9

Just keep an open mind because CAS cleared the Etihad deal before. I do not trust the Premier League to be independent.

Think you need to do one, spreading partial information to misdirect now. The reason city pulled out is because they wanted a no fault settlement which the Premier League and nobody in their right mind would be willing to accept from the cheats. Just another example of the disgusting way City have gone about it for years.

And no we don't need to approach it with an open mind, you've been found guilty! Sick of every city mouth trying to parrot this "respect the process". The process has been going on for years has concluded and you are GUILTY.

Not for me to tell anyone want to do or feel. Individual decision.

I'll spend the majority of my time Saturday supporting my own team and willing the boys on. The odd chant at City will be thrown in.

I can see a lot of fans though getting wound up as Man City will love playing the pantomime villain.

City fans are planning a massive show of defiant doubling-down at the game with us, with banners, inflatables, fancy-dress, etc. Think we're going to be under a lot of pressure and owe it to the rest of the league to give them a bit back.

Think Man City fans know exactly what most football fans think of them. And know deep down that this will not go away.

Man City fans won’t care what we think of them their anger is currently targeted towards what they call the Red Cartel that is Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool as well as the PL.

I do think that most Town players and staff would rather the fans sing more Ipswich related songs to encourage them than sing about the other teams cheating.

A simple and brief reminder would be for all town fans attending to come up with something that lasts a minute from the 114th second. Then just get back to supporting the team. A point made, no silly dramas. What that may be, I don't know, leave that to those attending!

Yes. Do you reckon German fans would put up with this sort of thing? I don't see them bringing banners about how much they love their owners after they've been caught cheating.

It's really weird to me that people act like football fans have no agency and that you must always support your team regardless of the wider picture. We certainly have agency when the club has bad owners... but apparently immoral ones are just fine as long as the team does well?

If tomorrow it was announced that Putin was our new owner, I would not support Ipswich until he was gone and I'd protest about it.

Talking of which, anyone else see Panorama on Monday about Abramovich?😱

Sorry to digress.

"Ashton's a c#nt, and so are your owners, Ashton's a c#nt we know how you feel!"

A rare chance for fans to unite, what a beautiful moment it could be!

"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

In some respects we should play with 13 players including 2 goalkeepers and when the ref queries it say, "the rules don't apply to the opposition so why should they apply to us?"

Of course we won't but it would be quite something if a club did take some sort of stand like that!

My boy was ahead of the curve. Two years ago he was singing the "115 charges" song on a packed tram full of City fans from Picadilly to the Etihad, whilst I tried to melt into the floor.

Antisemites, Jew haters and crashing bores will be put on ignore.

Pompey got sent back to the stone age for not even a teaspoon of what your dodgy owners have done.

Anything but League Two, and all your titles stripped will be a total injustice.

You should be hounding the owners out, not backing them, you know you didn't win any of it fairly, now do the right thing and stand by football and not the scum running your club, who have made you an embarrassment on an international scale, and start protesting.

I agree, I just don't see much point in spending a small fortune to go to a football game, to try and one up a supporter base at a game we'll get smashed in anyway. They are a joke, everyone knows it, whether we wave silly placards or not.

If we beat them, at their place, thats the best two fingers we can give really.

It should be a meaningless result anyway. I guess if they relegate them at the end of the season and all their results stand then it isn't.

I would find it highly amusing if they won every match this season and were relegated.
