Yeah, sadly I agree.
Whilst Leif looks fantastic, he's now 26 years old and up against a 21 year old O'Reilly (who's physically huge as well as fast) a 22 year Lewis Hall and an experienced Luke Shaw.
Whilst he's undoubtedly one of the quicker ones in the league, he's probably not as defensively good as Hall and Shaw is still as quick (when fit).
O'Reilly really is a stand out player in that position currently and will get better.
As much as I think he's in contention for selection, he's just a bit too far out to be given a chance. |  | | |

He's well down the list.
Hard to look past Hall and O'Reilly, then you've got Lewis-Skelly who is a good, versatile option. Even after them you've got Shaw, Spence who can play on the left, Rico Lewis. I don't think Leif gets in a 100 man England squad with 7 left backs tbh. |  | | |

O'Reilly has been overlooked - I just looked and he hasn't played much this season for City, so there's a chance for next time, it looks like Hall and Spence are the 2 in the squad this time with Lewis Skelly as a midfielder. |  |

Unfortunately for Leif, things have moved on for England at left back. If the Leif of this season had been playing 2 seasons ago, following his record breaking Championship assists season, there would be very strong calls for his inclusion, but he is older now, got called out a few times, by the pundits, for his defending that season, and better/younger options have since emerged for the role.
