I don't know if anyone else saw this (sorry if already posted), yesterday ANM played circa 70 minutes as LB for the Gooners V Benfica
For some TWTD posters please note Mr Walcot got a brace in the 5-2 win

With two games in two days they can afford to give players like him a decent chunk of time. I wouldn't be surprised to see him shipped out on loan.

Truly impaired.

Yep, sorry but we shpuld care because it looks very much like MM & TC never saw any potential in the lad who left looking a much worse player than when he arrived.

Maybe a clue?

I watched the game, he actually played centre half.

Was completely at fault for one of the goals, but Wenger obviously trusts him as he's played in a variety of positions at Arsenal now.

CH -?
didn't look like it on tv but, then I didn't see all the game because I didn't know it was on. If you were there you would have seen better.

I understand a lot of gooners believe he will make good.

My considerations are still, what went wrong at Ipswich?

He was only 17 here. Maybe he wasn't ready for a full Championship season?

On the left of back three.

I thought he was actually good here, and would have loved him back. Seemed to lose a bit of his drive as the season went on (only 17 of course) and seemed reluctant to run at players which was a shame.

Think his best role would be in a three man midfield, similar to Grant Ward.

The same MM who signed him on loan aged 17 and continued to play him for most of the season despite large parts of our fanbase moaning that he was lazy and crap?

But, you agree when he arrived he looked a very good young prospect?
When he left he looked a shadow of the lad who started the season?
Was he lazy & crap due to team management training and tactics ?
& back at the Gooners he begins to look like a footballing prospect?

And whose mother emailed MM to tell him he had to play her son all the time (however crap he was).

He was very young then though. He's still only 19 now.

It still amazes me that some of our fans slated him as having a bad attitude etc when he was here.

Also, can you imagine what they would have said if Mick had tried to convert him to a full back, as Wenger seems to now be trying to do? The mind boggles.

He was 17, it was the first season playing in his professional career, and his form fizzled out as the season progressed

He wasn't lazy, that was just the word most of our fans used to describe him, for some reason

It's not a surprise that he continues to look a prospect - most people with brains could tell he would be much better and wiser for the experience

He was 17 years old playing his first full season at a level above reserve/u23 games, in the Championship, and simply just burnt out by the end of the season.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

If M. Wenger can see him as a defender - FB, I am sure there is something that lad has demonstrated on the Gooners practice surface that has led to that decision.
