So with Hurst comes new ideas, I wonder if Chambo will be retained as club captain. I remember reading an article Stephen Hunt did for the Irish press where he praised Chambers as being one of the best captains he ever played with and hes not alone with the praise others have also commented if I recall correctly. Chambers has been captain everywhere he has played, and is an excellent leader as is frequently commented on by both players, coaching staff and anyone around the club.
As long as Chambers is here, he will be captain - Doig and Chambers having an existing relationship will be a good way to ensure that Chambers has the playing staff behind the manager from day 1 and if he doesn't get off to a good start.

Hurst has already indicated that he is pleased with what he has inherited and has a good group. I don't expect any changes to the spine of the side, including captaincy initially, that is unless Bart is sold. Expect the likes of Chambers and Skuse, Waghorn to continue in their roles.......
I wouldn't be surprised though if players like Spence and Kenlock are phased out......may be these who is referring to in terms of giving a chance but seeing if they continue to do things they don't like or cut them out... |  |

I have no doubt of his teamwork, but I have always questioned the value of a football captain in general at any club.
It's not like cricket whereby the captain has input into onfield tactics and decisions - this in theory should be the managers input |  | | |
