We are missing the playmaker 05:55 - Aug 19 with 1795 views | harlingblue | Who is the player in our squad to create for Norwood to be the prolific goalscorer? We are missing that playmaker. Skues and Downes are fine at protecting the defence, but who is going to really create anything for our fount runners?

We are missing the playmaker on 06:49 - Aug 19 with 1710 views | GerkensBeard | Alan Judge when he finds his form Andre Dozzell if he ever kicks himself up the arse Garbutt and Rowe from wide areas. KVY will no doubt be an attacking threat. There’s enough there
We are missing the playmaker on 07:35 - Aug 19 with 1625 views | Guthrum | Huws, Garbutt, Rowe, Edwards, Judge (if he gets it together), Dozzell (likewise), Sears (when fit), Lankester (more distantly). Edit: Nolan, forgot him (once fit, of course). [Post edited 19 Aug 2019 7:37]

Trouble is most of them are injury prone. So we will never be spoilt for choice. Dozzell is well over rated on here. Lives off the back of the name. Judge has lost the ability to play(nothing to do with QPR l hope). Lankaster is probably out for the season. Huws will do well to ger into double figures for appearances as will Bishop. So thats Skuse and Downes for most games, and they arnt creative.

Good job we've got lots of them, then, so can rotate as necessary. El Mizouni should be added to the list - he, after all, helped us score more than just the one goal you were insisting was all we could manage on Saturday.

Don't understand why Jackson is getting singled out, he was more effective overall than Norwood on the weekend. Norwood will be better over the season but I don't think people are looking at Jackson objectively or fairly based on recent performances. SB

We are missing the playmaker on 08:41 - Aug 19 with 1438 views | GerkensBeard | Thing is with a 4-4-2 if you can find a midfielder who can do all the dirty work, cover all the ground in centre mid that they need to and still play killer passes. Then that player won’t be at this level. As long as you wide men are creative in a 4-4-2 and can thread passes through as well as whip a ball in then there’s no need for it to be chipped up to Norwood. 4-4-2 if done right should be unstoppable for us in this league. What should be happening is the ball played out from the back, into Downes or Skuse, find the wideman, full backs overlapping giving him the option to play it to him to cross it or cut in and surge across the 18 yard box. 2 men in the middle to get the goals. With the players we have that is what should and hopefully will happen. In a 4-3-3 besides Nolan I don’t see a midfielder getting in the box to support Norwood. I want to see us persist with 4-4-2. Especially against Wimbledon with their 3 big centre half’s playing against 2 rather than 1

Judge - When he came on at burton- everything went sideways and it slowed our game down, when pace is required especially with Jackson.
We are missing the playmaker on 10:17 - Aug 19 with 1271 views | clive_baker | I think Nolan’s underestimated on here. He’s vital as he keeps the ball moving so quickly and moves the opposition around, creating space for those around him. Of the players out, he’s the biggest miss IMO. He’s a nailed on started once fit.

Agreed, and as just stated on another thread. Nolan drives the triangle passing and link play. Gets the ball down. Can score. Nolan should get more space this season, with Norwood and sometimes Jackson pushing the defenders. If we can get pace from the full backs, then a diamond with judge, Nolan, downes, skuse is possible. Pace coming from Jackson and new right back, or get Rowe/Edwards in a 4-2-3-1
