Oldham being touted as the next Bury 09:02 - Aug 31 with 1303 views | Mullet | It admittedly doesn't look good, and this sets out a few things probably forgotten in the last year or two thanks to the coverage of their two neighbours. I wonder if a chain reaction may have started here, that is coming to the fore. It'd be devastating for the region to lose another league club, but also means it's likely to spread around the country and lower leagues.

Oldham being touted as the next Bury on 09:04 - Aug 31 with 1285 views | Marshalls_Mullet | The region gained a league club in Salford this season, and has loads of lower league sides. But it would be devastating for Oldham. Hopefully it's not the case.

I went to watch them when BFJ returned and Supple was in goal for them. Can't remember if they had another Ipswich loanee. Had always wanted to visit boundary park having seen it on MOTD in the 90's. #sandpit

Oldham being touted as the next Bury on 09:19 - Aug 31 with 1184 views | brogansnose | I think that we've all probably been thinking that sooner or later quite few clubs would go pop and I'm surprised that many haven't actually gone. Football clubs are not really run as any normal business would be and certainly normal 'rules' don't seem to apply. Le'ts face it, football business strategy wouldn't get you far on Dragon's Den. Putting the cases of shyster owners and questionable motives to one side, perhaps we're getting to critical mass with the way the money goes around the game and cash flow to even keep anywhere near an even keel in the wider landscape. It could be the start of things, very sad though and mostly avoidable if those that run the game where any good at all.

The impact of Salford seems to be impacting the clubs connected with the owners. The great big fairy tale dream is very ugly in real life

Oldham being touted as the next Bury on 09:23 - Aug 31 with 1168 views | backinbeige | There’s got to be a news scandal in the next few weeks if it transpires that more clubs are essentially insolvent whilst trading but rheFA / EFL / powers that be weren’t effectively policing them and were asleep on the job

I wouldn't attach the word gain to Salford in that way, they're an abomination. Given the vanity project is funded by Bury and Oldham lads too it has to sting even more.
