Crikey! What on earth is happening there? Down to 11th!

Chants of ‘sacked in the morning’ from the fans aimed at their own manager who’s been there just 11 games.

With the squad, the money available and frankly the size of that club, they really should be at least top 2 right now. Can’t believe how poor their results have been of late - even some fears of relegation on their forum!

Shows what can happen if you don't immediately bounce back huh?

Sucked into the mire.

Like you say, have been a massive club in the past and it's not good to see.

Parkinson was always a terrible appointment.

I think it all stems to Jack Ross last summer, personally. I couldn’t believe some of the signings he made given the budget he had to work with (appreciate they had to trim their wage bill massively, but some of his signings were so poor).

In a nutshell

Ross decent first season - scuppered by sale of Josh Maja
Poor summer season - Unclear if Ross' fault or owners lack of funding
Team lacks pace and strength and wont make the play offs
Ross should have had more time
Parkinson seems a poor appointment. Needs Jan to get his players unlikely he will get there.

Sunderland looking for quick fix but need to address the club form the Acadamy up.
I would expect them to remain in league for at least another 18 months possibly longer.

For a club that's supposedly got some money, Phil Parkinson was about the most dull and uninspiring manager they could have gone for. What they needed was someone to really galvanise the supporter base and inject some much needed enthusiasm up there. On paper they've got a squad that should be much more competitive at this level, it all just very stale. I have a couple of mackam mates and they were crying out for Kevin Philips who had applied for it.

Worst set of fans.

Fair amount leave around 60 minute mark if they are losing.

Can’t say I have any sympathy for them.
