If we're going to play wing backs, I would even pick Kenlock as the left sided centre back of a three, to give us some balance. I liked Jonas playing there and think Myles could do a job, seeing as how short we are in that position (of quality). | |

I think it's interesting that some fans wanted Kenlock dropped because he 'was the worst LB in the history of Town' but since he was dropped our league form has gone backwards. Plus Garbutt looked much more dangerous when playing in a role further forward. |  | | |

I've been a critic as he was, in my opinion, awful at the start of the season.
He did well today although perhaps that's just the lowering of my expectations. I think probably should give him a go now although the key player on the pitch was Bishop by an absolute mile.
Bags of class and worked well with Dozzell.

Just a thought, Kenlock seems to cut inside when going forward. how about playing Garbutt one side and Kenlock the other? Also if you play three at the back we need two of them to be able come out with the ball and make a pass drop Cole back into the back line and never ever play Toto |  | | |

In an ideal world I would agree, but I can't simply because I think 5-3-2 with wingbacks is the way forward. I don't think we're good enough defensively to play a back 4, our central defenders aren't up to it. We were ripped apart at Lincoln, Woolfenden and Chambers were absolutely roasted. We need 3 in there, but I wouldn't be adverse to Kenlock playing on the left hand side of that 3. The benefit of that is it also allows us 3 in the middle of the park, where we have our greatest depth. [Post edited 4 Jan 2020 22:53]

Never thought of that to be honest. would give KVY and Garbutt a licence to attack more which is what we are missing with Edwards and Judge to be honest.

This thread is highlighting, for me anyway, how important it is to create partnerships throughout the team.
Three have been mentioned Kenlock and Garbutt on the left, Bishop and Dozzell in midfield and Donacien and Vincent-Young on the right. I would include Downes in a midfield three.
Now if only we had a settled pairing in Central defense We might be onto something. | |

I'd like to see us go out and buy a left back in all.honesty. Kenlock has the occasional decent game but he hasn't really progressed for me and as much as I love it when our own come through I don't think he is good enough.
Unless we turn around the form it will be difficult to sign Garbutt so we should be looking anyway. Another athletic left back please. Garbutt can play ahead of him. [Post edited 5 Jan 2020 9:10]
