| Forum Thread | I hope this is what happened and then will happen at 15:16 29 Aug 2020
1. The 5 young lads were excluded from team photo, and told that they will be in the under 23's on Friday night. 2. Marcus learned of this, and instructed Lambert to reverse this decision. 3. In spite, Lambert today abandons the technical football that ME wants and we play long ball. 4. Row commences between ME and Lambert over the phone tonight. 5. Lambert is sacked. 6. Either Dyer or the Cowley's are appointed. |
| Forum Thread | Situation when Sir Bobby got the England job at 15:23 16 Aug 2020
Does anybody remember what happened at the time, and if Bobby or the FA wanted Bobby Ferguson as his assistant? We're there any other candidates to replace Sir Bobby? I imagine it was like trying to follow Alex Ferguson at Man Utd, but perhaps our decline wouldn't have been so steep and sudden, if we had looked at someone else. I bet some good managers would have been very keen on the town job. |
| Forum Thread | League season 2020/21 at 15:41 5 Jul 2020
As many have said, it seems likely that a lot of clubs in league one won't want to be playing again until they can fill a more significant percentage of their stadium capacity. It depends what you class as a significant amount, but that surely won't be possible until a vaccine is available. I know we are all hopeful, that one will be ready very very soon, but many scientists and doctors seem to be saying that the second half of 2021 is more likely. This would cover the whole of next season. We can't have another situation with endless EFL meetings and votes like last time that will drag on and on Clubs rightly have their own agendas and finances to look after, but there will be clubs that do want to play, and that can afford to play with a small percentage of fans allowed in,plus other revenue streams like ifollow. Perhaps an idea, could be that if you are a club in league one or two, and you want to play, and can prove that you can afford to play, and demonstrate that you can keep your fans safe in and around your stadium, then league one and two are amalgamated into one league for next season. If you don't want to play, by a certain date ,e.g. August 1st then 2020/21 is abandoned for you. I'm sure there may be a good take up in league 2, with the opportunity available to jump 2 divisions in one season. I just thought that this could be a way to get football, at our level, going again, even though I understand it is unfair on the smaller clubs. |
| Forum Thread | Time to play to Norwoods strengths? at 11:39 2 Feb 2020
I wondered, especially with a tough away fixture to come, if it was time to try Norwood up front on his own. Most of his goals for Tranmere came that way, and was surely the reason we bought him. I would go back to basics with a 4411 and leave any working on a new formation or philosophy until the summer now because we must get promoted. You can't just one day start training and then lining up like you are going to play similar to Sheffield United, this should have been done back in pre season. It might be harsh on Jackson, but he is better in a two, and we don't seem to have the right partner for him. I would play Nolan and Dozzell in the wide areas to make us more compact. I would go with this for Sunderland --------------------------- Holy ------------------------------ Donacien Chambers. Woolfenden. Earl Nolan. ------Downes.-------Huws. ----Dozzell ---------------------------Dobra -------------------------- -------------------------Norwood------------------------- [Post edited 2 Feb 2020 11:40]

| Forum Thread | Mick Mills said something interesting during commentary at 16:46 26 Jan 2020
yesterday. He was talking about Teddy when he came on, and describing the number 10 position as a luxury position. I'd never really thought of it like that before and it is true. He said from that position, you really need to be contributing goals and assists. It's fair to give Teddy a bit a leeway, when he is getting just 15 or 20 minutes from the bench, and with his injury history, but I think we should be hoping for him to be doing this soon. The comments should also apply to Judge now he is getting a run in his best position. I think we should be hoping for a bit more than 1 goal, which was in a 4-1 win. |
| Forum Thread | After threads this week at 09:57 11 Jan 2020
about Tyrone Mings and Keiffer Moore, It got me thinking about some of his other lower league buys. I then remembered about Paul Digby from Barnsley reserves. I then remembered how well he played, when we drew 0-0 at Middlesbrough. I now can't envisage how we could get a draw at Middlesbrough, now or even if we got promoted and played them next season. I know it was time for Mick to go, but I'm missing those first 3 years. It was direct, but winning football, with the bit of class coming from Mcgoldrick, and you always heard opposition managers and players saying how they hated playing us. That was our identity and I liked it. I would rather be like that again, than trying to be something we are not, technical, or could ever be without serious money. |

Is available as well from Sheffield United. Would be a great signing. |

until the end of the season, would you try and get his successor in as well, to work alongside him, to get some kind of continuity in the summer. |
| Forum Thread | Time for Brett Mcgavin? at 14:04 28 Dec 2019
I've seen a few threads where people are thinking time is catching up with Cole Skuse this season, and I wondered if people, especially those who watch the 23's, hought Mcgavin might be ready to try and make this position his. |
| Forum Thread | I remember ME being keen on Nathan Jones at 00:49 27 Dec 2019
when Mick left, but was put off by the compensation that Luton were wanting. Maybe, it would be something that he would look at again, now he could get him with no costs like before. |
