As much as they have found ways to overspend without penalty so far, they have also found ways of getting very good players to lead to mid-table mediocrity consistently.
They are now the longest consecutive members of that league aren't they? Previous holders of that were ourselves and before that Coventry. The longer a club stays in that league, the more likely the exit route is downwards. |  |

I’ve seen a fair bit of it this year because of Swansea, and yep it’s been awful by and large. I’d go as far to say we’d have survived if our last season’s ‘effort’ had been this year. Maybe pushing it a bit, but it’s bad this season. Especially around the top third. |  |
