I thought there was a very severe shortage, in which emergency situation surely 2 companies producing them is better than one?

There's something fishy about that GTech bloke who's always on the box. They probably found out what it is during the vetting process.

The NHS did a load of testing and picked the Dyson one, maybe the GTECH one didn't survive the testing. Personally I would prefer one that works than have one produced which didn't work just for the sake of saying 'hey we have 30,000' now.

I would also add Dyson and the Gov waived the patent rights to it and published the design for free on the internet so other countries/companies can produce if they want

Not wanting to come across as unnecessarily pedantic but the 'Dyson one' is being reported outside the headlines as having been "developed with consultancy The Technology Partnership (TTP) in Cambridge". From something I saw earlier today most if not all of the work was done by TTP and Dyson is going to re-purpose one of the sites they had intended to make electric cars at before deciding that was better done in Singapore.

Do you know how many Dyson can make in a week? I heard a figure but it seems crazy high seeing that we are sitting on so little stock.
