In fairness to him, Dozzell has had plenty of game time and looks miles off it.

He WAS our most promising prospect before his injury, I don't think you can say that anymore.

I agree; there are many sticks to beat Lambert with but I don’t think his treatment of Dozzell is one of them.

I just don't think we have a system or anything much which suits him, especially at this level. Downes thrives because this league is built for blood and thunder. Dozzell doesn't seem to have a consistent set of strikers or wingers to pick out or the understanding of who's going to get him on the ball.

I was looking at Johnny Williams on Sunderland's documentary and thinking actually that's why Bishop and Dobra might work at this level, because they run at players and make the game change.

I think it was Lincoln where Dozzell picks out Keane superbly once or twice but then we looked baffled at being in such good positions without all charging forward. Lincoln lump it forward and rush us and we then have no Skuse to offset that lack of defensive ability from AD.

I'm not sure how we solve that riddle without Downes leaving and Skuse going back in time 2 years to fit AD in to what we currently do. I still think it's him behind two runners who can screen him and let him fire passes through from behind them if at all.

Most promising? No way. Disappears most games. One good pass every 5 matches he plays simply isnt good enough. Too lightweight. Out of his depth most times he has played.
