I get the feeling ME has got some complicated system planned which many are going to be unhappy with.

I will be happy with any response that doesn't jeopardise the Club's finances. I can wait.

I’m no fan of Evans but this is a weird take on things considering Sunderland are only refunding due to the bad publicity they got initially.

Wasn't it only 2 days ago they announced the season was cancelled? All days are merging into one, but I'm sure it hasn't been long.

I don't think there'll be an enormous wait. They're waiting to get clarification on some of the financial stuff from the EFL, how much sponsorship cash is clawed back due to the unplayed games, things like that.

More than happy for my ticket money to be ploughed back into the club funds if this will help us get Garbutt signed on. Come on start backing the club.

Me too, they can keep my money.

I am not interested in the slightest in any refund on my ST although I would not mind having the money back that I have paid for Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury away games.

Sunderland has no intention of doing any refunds but got significant bad press over the past week so have been forced into action, basically.

I am lucky enough to be in a position I too am not massively bothered regarding refunds and I too am happy for the club to keep my money.

However, some people cannot afford to do this, this could be the biggest ressescion this country has ever seen and many fans will be concerned about their future.

ME and the club knew this was a very big possibility so surely have a plan?

Like with most things uncertainty causes panic and creates further problems, ME could resolve this by announcing his plan or at least give some hint at what it could be.

Also thinking this money will go into signing players is utter lunacy!

I would argue the opposite - if you can afford a football clubs season ticket, even spread over on direct debit, you are more than likely to be able to wait on the refund, even for a little bit and if you couldn't afford it you have more than likely cancelled the direct debit.

I know its a sweeping generalisation and does not apply to every situation - there are people who won't be able to afford it because they have lost their job etc - but on the whole people will be able to wait.

It will come probably within the next week or two, processing 10K refunds or deciding what to do so it doesn't destroy the club isnt the easiest decision in the world.

My point is not predominantly the money in the bank account factor but the uncertainty of whether they will receive a refund or not.

Right now some people could be thinking that there is a possibility no refunds are paid out, the announcement of a refund could give a family currently facing hardship due to this crisis, either from being laid off or on furlough (80% of salary). If ME announced there will be an option of a refund (which I think legally there probably has to be) the families struggling can breath a sigh of relief in the knowledge they have some spare cash coming their way.

As I say ME must know roughly what he is going to offer so why the delay. He has had months to plan this eventuality.

As i mentioned last week, Lincoln were off the mark on the same day. They’re offering three options for ST holders however the first two wouldn’t be possible for us due to our ownership structure:

The first option enables you to convert your remaining season ticket balance to shares within the Club;
The second option enables you to convert your remaining balance to shares on behalf of the Red Imps Community Trust;
The third option allows you to receive a refund on a pro rata basis to include all lost home games this season. This includes the Bury fixture originally scheduled for 23/11/19.
I suspect ME has two options. A refund or a donation.

Just had an email from one of our competitors for next season re: ST by Plums 10 Jun 2020 19:27
It’ll be interesting to see what our approach will be but they’re quick off the mark:

Dear nnnn,

An EFL announcement this week confirmed that the current Sky Bet League One season has been curtailed. First of all, we’d like to thank you for your patience and your continued support during this extremely difficult period for us all. You can read an open letter to season ticket holders from our Chairman Clive Nates HERE (link : https://www.weareimps.com/news/2020/june/200609-clive-nates-open-letter/?mc_cid=94308cd7e5&mc_eid=e4f6727e1a. )

You are a vital part of Lincoln City FC and as a matter of courtesy we would like to take the opportunity to speak to you directly. All box holders, SRP 1884 Lounge members and Buildbase Legends Lounge members will be contacted on a 1:1 basis by a member of the commercial team to discuss the various options moving forward. Due to the volume of calls, this may take up to 20 working days. We thank you for your ongoing patience.

Etc.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
