Farewell to Orfordness Lighthouse then on 08:08 - Jul 17 with 923 views | itfcjoe | That's a shame, I've had many a nice walk over there and it is a great landmark. Also sad the site is currently shut as would have liked to have gone over and had a look one last time with the kids.

Yes, it's always one of the "explanations". SB
Farewell to Orfordness Lighthouse then on 09:50 - Jul 17 with 780 views | Warkystache | I remember doing a charity walk to Orford Ness Lighthouse back in the 1990's. We started at Woodbridge and walked through Rendlesham Forest to Orford on a blisteringly hot day. It's one of my favourite parts of Suffolk. Sad that the lighthouse has gone but the sea was starting to encroach even back then. I like Orford Castle as well.

There's so many theories for it I believe one suggested was a spinning lights display from somewhere like Hollywood's Night Club There was actually a satellite re-entry around the time of the event and possibly a comet also which could have given the impression of something coming down below the trees There was actually a UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) report available from the National Archives which mentions possible explanations for what was seen

Farewell to Orfordness Lighthouse then on 10:59 - Jul 17 with 695 views | Swansea_Blue | Shame. Good piece though. One of my favourite rides was out to Orford via Woodbridge and Melton. If I was feeling particularly energetic, I'd sometime get the ferry across from Bawdsey and then back through the Trimleys to Ipswich.

If it's that far offshore Portman Road will be used for water polo Actually thinking about it that might not be such a bad thing
