What I remember of that day is,
We had a great pitch in those days
Also from where I stood if there had been goal line technology that first Wolves effort was over the line but Cooper was clever
It was a bit tasty after the game although there was often trouble with Wolves so normal

What I didn't remember
Is looking at some of those challenges in the box, players of today would have gone down immediately looking for the penalty

Love after Burley's goal at the end the Keeper looks like he just says "fúck" as he collapses to the ground.

He had a good game too.

Must admit I can’t remember this precise game, but pretty sure I would have been there as a fanatical 9 year old town fan! I always remember Wolves as a bogey team back then, but not sure if that is just my memory playing tricks!

Have you seen where the linesman are? That's what they were called back then.
I cannot recall seeing them on that side of the pitch.
They are normally on the right wing of the attacking side.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I liked the fact the slowmotion replay confirmed he said it

Fantastic! Have to say, I don't remember away fans being in that side of the North Stand.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

That goal was a cracker - a striker would have been proud of it, never mind a defender

TWTD - thanks for the reminder, Keno:)

Linesmen always going with left backs is a relatively new approach. For a longtime it was based on which diagonal the referee preferred to run, with the opposite side to today’s consistent approach probably being the more favoured.

I remember that game very well being stood behind the Churchmans goal and, told before the game to watch out for their striker John Richards, which in hindsight, was very much tempting fate.

Just read some reviews of the game on the Molineuxmix forum where they claim to have had approx 4, 000 - 6,000 fans at the game, also reporting the following quote:

"Sad note to this day. A Wolves lad was killed in Cambridge on the way home when his coach was bricked. R.I.P".

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

The following comments to the thread were:

That's awful. Any idea which set of supporters did it (can't be Cambridge?).

It was Cambridge. We waited a while till we played them.

At the game. I think that was the one where my younger brother copped for a PP3 battery on his head thrown over from the Ipswich side of that terrace.

Caused a bit of a lump and a bit of blood but we managed to see the rest of the game.
