I hate to say it, but it's just a preseason friendly. It didn't mean anything when we were knocking it about and turning Colchester over and it doesn't mean anything now we're getting done over ourselves by West Ham. Players aren't giving it full tick in preseason, they're getting fit and trying things out. No point reading anything into it. |  |

Toying with Colchester and getting beaten up by Spurs and West Ham is exactly where we are as a club.
Maybe the irony of these pre season games, means we end up replacing players like Chambers who would have been a given before this pre season. |  |

Exactly, added to this Westham probably have a more full strength side then we do.
If we play this type of football with our so called better players we should blow most L1 clubs away this season.
My worry is the players keeping fit and our leaky defence needs a good sorting if we are going to be in around the top | |

One minute we say we have no identity, the manager is clearly trying to build something, and after 3 games in a pre season the players are getting stick already.
Sums some of the fan base up unfortunately.

I hate it when fans expect things to click immediately and then moan when we go back to the long ball football.
I really hope PL sticks with the football this year, we probably could do with a football minded CB to come in, maybe on loan while we try and bring Ndaba through.

Just a spanking a L2 side didn't mean we had nailed it, equally this doesn't mean we are gutless. It really highlights some weaknesses sure but they are not so weak in L1 to be overly worried. I think we are yet to see our preferred 11. We'll almost certainly see close to that in last pre-season game. | |

I understand the argument 'why has it taken 18 months to find a style', but that's gone now, Lambert is trying to implement some identity and we must stay true to it.
There will be times where we are caught out, of course there will, the very best Man City, Barcelona, Ajax who notoriously play the 4-3-3, but you have to trust your principles long term.
We could do with another cultured footballer in along Woolfenden, I suspect none in our sort of market though. | |
