Will the first domino fall next month 14:05 - Oct 8 with 1044 viewsgtsb1966

When clubs have to start paying their staff a third of their wages. That's everyone not just the players. I can see one of two clubs going to the wall in November with a few more gone by Xmas. How will we fare?

Ironically, given that Evans appears happy to underwrite losses(and has been for a number of years now) we might actually be better placed financially under him for once compared to a lot of clubs at our level(and above).

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Will it effect?

Clubs are playing any working staff now aren’t they? You can’t be on furlough on work can you?

Anyone else who they can’t afford to pay will be made redundant whose left on furlough now?

Which again brings us again to the situation where we have a salary cap exactly the same as Rochdale, Accrington etc, what a farce..............

Poll: Who would you want as Ipswich manager in November. there aren't many candidates

I think if it's more than a trickle then there'll ultimately be a bailout.

You’re right. Any staff that are working will no longer be on furlough

Incorrect, if u we’re furloughed at the start , you could have returned to work from July onwards and be part furloughed until end of October , if you are not working 80% of hours that you worked prior to being furloughed.
Employer pays you for the hours you work and the government makes your pay up... different amounts depending on the month.

In terms of what that’s means after the end of the furlough scheme, there is no obligation on employers to give employees the same number of hour as previously , there’s may be redundancies if clubs decide they have no work or liklihood of work for some individuals.

ME must be reasonably content or we wouldn’t have added McGuinness and Bennett’s to the squad.
