He was supposed to be getting them challenging, but they'd only be in about 21st/22nd place if they and Derby hadn't had points deductions.
A bit early to pull the trigger, although I don't think he's as good as people think he is. He had a great season down here building off the back of what went before, but when he put his stamp on things it all went baps up. He's mostly not delivered since either. Although I suppose most managers don't deliver if promotion is the goal. |  |

Mick McCarthy was apparently sounded out about it a couple of weeks ago but was warned off it by a previous Owls manager and went to Cyprus instead.
