The Pfizer vaccine has now been approved in Canada and the US and the rollout will start shortly.

The GSK/Sanofi vaccine has unfortunately not created the immune response they had hoped for and thus has been put back to the end of 2021.

They're not interested in the Oxford one then?

Presumably they'll think it contains tea.

Hopefully next week the Oxford vaccine gets approved as well.

Really hope people are sensible over Christmas with cases dropping in most places. Could be a very different UK in 3 months if we don't have a massive Christmas spike.

It has been submitted for approval hasn't it, and as the Pfizer has triggered a reaction in a few people it's said those who have allergies related to some medicines or foods should wait for the Oxford vaccine.

It has. Dr Campbell thinks they'll announce it has been approved on the 18th Dec based on who he has been speaking to.

Would be great to see some doses of that being given out before Christmas.

I've got a flu jab next week. It's not something I would normally take them up on but I figure in the spirit of things and being an anti-anti vaxxer it would be rather hypocritical if I didn't!

The Sputnik V vaccine has hit a stumbling block with Russians who ,like a drink:

"Recipients of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine should abstain from alcohol for nearly two months before and after immunization, the head of Russia’s consumer safety watchdog said Tuesday."

Unfortunately there will be a minority who aren't. Even now the pubs and restaurants are full of people who clearly don't live together but are eating and drinking inside anyway.

It's not really for the pubs to police either, people should be able to police themselves but clearly not.

Cases in London are rising again.

Many people think they're special, that somehow they're the exception and that the rules don't apply to them.

I'd love to say that this outlook changes when they end up helping a relative become infected and die, but from what I've seen that's not always the case.

It's baffling, ever year people winge and moan about the family coming for xmas, yet, when there is a genuine reason to tell them they can't come this year they don't

Personally, it's just myself, wife and two boys, after last year with 15 people descending in our house, I'm absolutely buzzing to have a quiet one.

Had mine back in October. It's a special serum this year which means they have to inject it straight into your bellend.

Enjoy!

I've had so many tubes and cameras shoved down there over the past 7 years that hardly sounds like a threat any more!

The stories alone would make your eyes water pal.

I still don't like needles in my arm though.

Yea and to be fair, you shouldn't worry about the needle. They've reduced in size a lot since the old days.

Really hoping Oxford one gets rolled out soon. I qualify for a vaccine early as I'm a care worker but I've just had to cancel my appointment for the Pfizer vaccine due to my nut allergy.
