Would you like to see Kieron Dyer appointed until the end of the season? on 13:46 - Feb 18 by RegencyBlue
For his sake, no!
This sh1t show is not the job to be launching your full managerial career at.
Why not? Unlike his ex-teammate Shearer at Newcastle or Gunn at Norwich he can hardly take us down. If he does really well he'll be managing a Championship club in just months, and worse case we'll finish mid-table and can appoint someone else.
I agree - give him until end of the season. If we finish mid-table we can bring Nigel Clough in, if he gets us up he gets the job.
No brainer.

No, but he can't take us down like they took Newcastle and Norwich down!

For me it carries a big risk. If it doesn’t work, we are looking for a new manager who hasn’t worked with the squad yet is going to need to make decisions on the contracts of a large number of players. We could end up with a Hurst Version 2.0 situation and League 2 beckoning fast. We need a permanent new manager - yesterday. If it’s KD, great, we’ll all support him but the ‘to the end of the season’ stuff scares the living daylights out of me.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

It's only a risk if we give him a full season out of nowhere. He'd be getting a savable chunk of this one to try his hand it it, if he fails we wont go down and we can appoint Nigel Clough then instead, who in my opinion is the only manager good enough to sort out our mess.
The Cowleys however will sink us. They are more like Hurst than Dyer is and have a similar record in The Championship.

Well if he didn't do very well and we finished mid table it would not be ideal to give him a long contract like we did Lambert. Lets see some evidence first and explore the options in the summer.

You’ve made my point. Now is not the right time for him as ‘to the end of the season’ is too risky.
