Covid probably saved Lambert’s job twice - once by being bringing 19/20 to a premature close and secondly because Evans didn’t like the optics of sacking someone who was sick with it/recovering from it. If that wasn’t the reason why Lambert was only axed when he was I’d love to know why Evans held on for so long.
