the Gibson deal is apparently "well down the line and not far from being concluded" but the clubs haven't yet decided if it's a loan or a permanent move?

I would imagine it depends on whether Gibson will sign a new contract with Everton. If he signs, then they would loan him. If he does not, they would want a fee as he would be out of contract at the end of the loan. |  |

The way I understand it is he'll be leaving Everton at the end of the season so they're working out the way to do a deal now that suits everyone best.
Other than that, I think it's pretty much sorted he'll come here.
