In the ideal world you want 4 weeks of solid pre season with your squad, we weren't ever going to get that, and with more signings probably coming in over the next month still, it will take a fair while before everything is in place imo

We have a very, very, very gentle start to the season.

It is possible to start slowly and make up for lost time, but we won’t have a lot of wiggle room.

I'm quite glad on paper at least it looks kind, I don't think we're quite ready to be playing our direct competitors yet. ( Appreciate anyone in the league is a competitor, just mean those who probably will end up at the top end)

It will be interesting to see how different the mentality of the side is when the league campaign starts. I know i'd personally find it hard to be going full throttle in friendlies.

If we evolve into the best team after a month or two (ok, unlikely but possible) it doesn’t matter who we play after that.
