Biggest concern! 09:22 - Aug 11 with 709 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | There is a lot of moaning and flouncing after our first two results and while I'm not convinced that Cook is the right man but I do believe he was the best appointment at the time and hopefully my concerns will proved wrong. I think the biggest worry about Paul Cook is that he couldnt get a new manager bump in performance! Normally when a club appoints a new manager there is a immediate bounce in positive results - even if temporarily - and we didnt get that with Cook. While the performances with the new squad have been an improvemet in these first two day we are in a results business! I still believe the team assembled should be able to compete mid-table championship and, despite the doom and gloom of first two results, I fully expect us to be promoted this year. I think the owners will give Cook time but the question is will the fans?

Biggest concern! on 09:30 - Aug 11 with 652 views | Marshalls_Mullet | Time will only come if wins come, if we are not getting wins and at least challenging for the play offs, I doubt the owners will give time. I think there is enough encouragement to suggest results will come, but that needs to start happening soon.

My hunch is that the owners' patience would expire quicker than the majority of fans.

Biggest concern! on 09:46 - Aug 11 with 571 views | Guthrum | The question being, what might be the reasons for a "new manager bounce"? Clearly, they may vary and it is not an automatic process. If the previous Manager was incompetent, but with a good squad, the results will obviously improve. But if there are problems with the squad as well, it may be harder for the new coach to get a tune out of them. Indeed, it might actually more represent an "old manager leaving bounce" if they were unpopular/uncommunicative - hence, perhaps, why Gill was able to get a couple of good results (helped by fortuitous circumstances). Timing and squad expectations can make a difference. If half the team didn't believe we could make, let alone win, the playoffs then that may not lead to renewed effort. Whereas earlier in the season, there is more time to cement a place in the top six. Perhaps player morale had simply crashed too far to be turned around in a matter of days. Hence shipping out large numbers of otherwise quite competent players (e.g. Downes, Dozzell) over the summer. Or fitness may have been an issue, lacking the energy for a revival. It isn't as simple as changing the Manager and expecting an automatic effect.

Biggest concern! on 09:52 - Aug 11 with 539 views | WD19 | One concern is obviously sorting out the centre back position - but I am pretty sure that is a given because it is glaring and we have the resources. Which leaves the 'biggest' concern which is our inability to put the ball in the net enough. When everything clicks and we get on a roll I am sure we will look tremendous, but until then I am worried about our ability to win ugly.
