Who actually is worth keeping ? 14:40 - Aug 24 with 1869 viewsmarkchips

So here we are waiting on the last of the bomb squad- Kenlock and Mcgavin.

Of the remaining players from last season Nolan hasn't played, Norwood is injured, Nsiala is injured, .

Jackson is here until Norwood is fit I suspect.

Donacien is here as cover.

Woolfenden will be cover to Edmundsen unless he comes out of his daydreams.

Holy is only cover at the moment .

KVY is in but I suspect Burns may play at wing back for some of the games when everyone is fit (some hope).

So maybe a maximum of two regulars and that is being generous.

Says it all really and Cook had no choice. The proof is before our eyes.

Is Nolan still injured?

Bit tautologous this, isn't it?

Cook got rid of all our old players, meaning none of our old players are in the team, therefore proving he had no choice but to get rid of all our old players.

I'm quite pleased with the business we've done this Summer, but I don't think anything has been "proven" by 4 league games.

It isn't really clear what you're referring to when you say 'the proof is before our eyes', or why it is the case that 'Cook had no choice'.

With the current lack of midfielders there must be some thought to keeping McGavin around.

Kenlock will presumably go, Jackson too. Hopefully Norwood and Toto stick around. Donaicen has proved useful but is potentially a waste of wages when everyone is fit (which won't be often).

McGavin's currently below at least 6 midfielders, if not more, and there won't be space for him as an over-21 in the squad list.

Wouldn't surprise me if we pay up McGavins and Kenlocks contracts before the window closes.

I really hope Jackson goes, he somehow really winds me up. Stolen a living as a 'footballer'.

Merely pointing out that performances from the old players have been poor or they are constantly injured.

That Norwood’s being injured PROVES he was right to sell Wilson, say, is a peculiar logic.

And yet we are now worse than we were last season even with all the expensive and exotic new players.

Too early to tell, isn't it?

It might ultimately turn out that all the players we pushed out were rubbish and we've replaced them with absolute ballers but it's definitely still in the unproven column for now.

Would think that, for example, a team with Dobra, El Mizouni, Norwood, Vincent-Young, Woolfenden, Donacien, Nolan and four others of a good quality would probably be fine to get in the L1 play-offs if the players stayed fit, and were well coached and well organised.

I don't really think our problems getting out of L1 so far are due to players not being good enough - it's the off-field setup, the medical, coaching and management structure that has let us down.

Yes, this. There's a lot of people getting nosebleeds because we signed lots of players. We need to start getting some actual points before declaring success.

Well….yes. Have you seen the results so far? Goals conceded?

Need a hardened ball winner in there. Lose some more of the bomb squad and invest .
