Well they are 9 points ahead of us.... on 11:23 - Aug 31 with 2401 viewsBloots

....so they may have a point.

(whilst we only have 3)

On the other hand, if their fans could also see how much we have spent in the past 3/4 years compared to them for approximately the same result, some fair-minded folk might consider we were due a present or two.

Bit rich Sunderland calling our players tosh when they had Championship level players and have been here longer than us.

But. I'm not sure I really care what other clubs think of us anymore. I just want this club to start winning games and get out of this god forsaken league.

Early days but on face value our approach this summer is not that dissimilar to their first season in League 1 with their new owner (see Season 2 of Sunderland Til I Die). They had 19 draws over the course of the season and slipped to the play-offs.

I think the intro to the link in the opening post is a little misleading. If you actually read their thread then very few are saying the signings are tosh (in fact quite the opposite), it's more just questioning our squad composition and what they perceive as a scattergun approach to recruitment. Something plenty of our own fans are doing.

They're relating it to their own business when they first dropped to this division a few years ago so think they're speaking from experience. Maybe they are....

Wow what a bitter and twisted lot, I don’t see how anyone in their right mind can’t think we have done anything other than great business this window, wether than counts for anything we will soon find out…

The only Muff in Town.

Our number 17 seems to have caused a bit of confusion

To be fair, others may view them as tosh, but for us, compared to the transfer drivel we had to ensure under Evans, these are Galactico's!

They may have a point, they may not. No wins in five says potentially yet again we’ve signed a load garbage. Bit like throwing mud at the wall and hoping some of it sticks. However, it’s only five games and another twenty games may tell a different story. It’s too early to pass judgement on the new players, with the exception of possibly the goalkeeper.

If Cook can get them playing cohesively as a team for 90 mins, win a game or two it’ll be a different story.

Most important of all, I couldn’t care a less what Sunderland, Chris Sutton, Portsmouth, the Ayatollah or anyone else has to say, though I can understand their laughter. It’s only what we do that matters.

I’d suggest all these comments by our rivals shows they are fully aware of our threat once we’re up and fully running . Interesting 3/4 of a season I’d say !
