Over 24 hours since the game and it's still uncomfortable to think about us and our chances now this season. How can we even be talking about our automatic promotion chances being over in November, and how it could be a real challenge to scrape into the top six... Can we as supporters not just get a fecking break?
Feel exactly the same — more p7ssed off and frustrated with what I saw on Tuesday than anything at ITFC in a long time, which is really going some. Can't shake it. What an opportunity we are squandering.
I’ll admit to feeling as flat as ditch water after Tuesday too. Still hadn’t lifted and with Crewe game on Sunday I’ve never felt less enthusiastic tbh. Even though I kind of expected us to lose to Rotherham, it was the mss as net of our performance that sticks in my mind. It was like someone had s was heeled in Lambert and last seasons team, it was that bad .
Alex Mathie said Sunderland were just waiting lose last Saturday, we’ll Town gave those same vibes on Tuesday - that’s down to a lack of belief IMO.
We go again on Sunday and nothing short of a hammering of our opponents will start to move thst reset button I’m afraid .
Oh how I wish PC would line up with a different formation- just once !

Would a hammering of Crewe do it for some?
I don't think it would for me, just merely papering over the cracks that are now permanently going to divide the fanbase and ruin yet another season.

Thing is, we will probably beat Crewe 1-0 and some will be saying "why so few posts after a win? "
Simple answer, we should be doing much better than this.
Too true, can see us just scraping it 1-0 or 2-1 but having about 70% possession, getting in good positions but making bad decisions in the final 3rd.
Before Rotherham I was still full of hope for the season, thought we would easily finish top 6. Can see it in the players now that they have started to give up on the season.

What is so frustrating is that we seem to be on the cusp of something and then it disappears, like a mirage. I genuinely think if we get promoted this ownership group will make funds available for us to properly compete in the Championship. The fans are just waiting to explode, look at the support this season for an underperforming side. We've had years of underinvestment and dross, please, please just give us something and we'll respond. Jeez, it does my head in.

Tuesday night didn't really bother me, to be honest. Sure, we made it easy for them, they barely had to break into a sweat to beat us, but it was a game I expected us to lose - what is it now, 1 goal scored against Rotherham in 6 games, under 3 or 4 different managers? They've got a hold over us at the moment, they are certainly top 2 come the end of the season, barring an absolute collapse in the NY.
Sunderland bothered me a lot more - a game we could, and should have won easily, yet threw it away in the last 5 mins or so. Had we won that, and Oxford, I don't think so many would be as down about the Rotherham result.
Before the Sunderland game, I was still in the, "top 2 is possible, albeit unlikely" camp - I'm now in the, "top 6 is doable" camp, and can anyone say, other than Rotherham, that there are another 4 or 5 excellent teams in this division, or, like us, just a bunch of 5-10 teams that could make the POs if they start putting a run of wins together?

Until we string some decent results together against good teams then the season is in limbo
Same here. It was my first time in the upper north for several seasons. I was e pecting it to be jumping but very little atmosphere right from entering. The Sunderland defeat certainly affected our fans. Perhaps the team also hadnt got fully over it? Where was the touch tight defending for Rotherhams first goal? Thrirveinger and attacker each received two passes under no pressure at all. Blame Cook all you like but such poor defending is down to the players themselves.

I don't think the players have given up, it's just we are not quite good enough in key areas of the pitch. Maybe Cook wasn't able to sign all the players he intended? Who knows?
As a supporter I'm generally posting less and less due to apathy. I'm not enthusiastic or hopeful about our chances this season.
We might have an FA Cup good third round opponent to look forward 2. Might be the best thing about this season.

Its more like
What a Waste is about right. Sad High Hopes is about a promotion from League 1. Should be thinking about cup glory or getting into the top half of the Premiership. We have fallen a long, long way.

Yes true, we shouldn't fear anybody apart from Rotherham and our performances against the other teams in the top 6 warrants that.
