He opened with 'The stadium in the first half wasn't a very nice environment with supporters basically wanting to turn, which I get. The first half performance was very indicative of that.' He did, in fairness, then backtrack on that a bit later. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/paul-cook-on-itfc-0-barrow-0-8540138

He said something about the atmosphere in the first half. He also said the pitch was too bobbly.

He's suggesting the performance was indicative of the atmosphere in the first half. Paul, do you not think if the their hadn't been an absolute disgraceful performance first half that the atmosphere may have been slightly different.

Yeah, it's definitely not his tactics, selections or ability to motivate the players then?

No, not really. He said the fans were critical and booed at half-time but the team didn’t do enough first half to earn the support. After that much better and would be good if the fans kept with the team. Because it’s not really helping if the fans and team aren’t together. I agree.

It's the beginning of the end when you start blaming the fans. (n/t) on 18:33 - Dec 4 with 559 views | solomon | Unfortunately In the modern game a manager doesn’t have to be successful to be successful, if he’s given his marching orders through lack of results he’s in for a pretty nice windfall financially. Who needs success when so little is at stake?

Is it? Let’s be honest, if anyone suggested you didn’t know what you were doing (despite you actually having years of experience and them having none), then they’d be wrong. Now it may not work for Cook at ITFC but to say it’s down to his inability to do the basics of management is pathetic. It’s way more about margins than that.

And of course those people learnt nothing. Self-entitlement is an addiction.
