Mick Mack and his glorious blend of football I wanted Jack Ross, plain and simple.
ME then decided to feck it up and we ended up with Hurst who I was never happy with. After that disaster we had lambert and Cook, neither of these two really floated my boat but I certainly wasn't against them.
For some reason I am happy with these two if confirmed - even though I know next to nothing about them. I think the key is though that he needs the Pert guy as well, we need a double act and Pert seems a thorough individual.
Yep, quite content with all that and quite impressed with the hierarchy

it is an oddity being happy about things we know nothing about...
For me, I had never heard of him, initially knee-jerk reaction was to think wtf are we doing that for, but I am convinced by the many who thought Paul Cook was a genius and had signed us world class players that he is going to be a good manager, therefore I am pleased...

Agree with this 100%. When I logged on this afternoon I thought "who" so I decided to look them both up. There will always be negative comments but the positive ones far outweigh the negatives. I was hoping we would go down the road of someone young and ambitious rather than someone who has had success in the past but their coaching is becoming outdated. The big plus is he's bringing someone trusted with him. Instead of just onwards I think this could be the time we can say onwards and upwards.

I agree Lucan, if it's true, we are about to sign two first team coaches from Man united, the biggest club in the world. I believe the main guy also was assistant manager to Mourinho.
There is no given in football management. sometimes it just doesn't work out. I'm sure Cook will bounce back soon.
I'm not sure what some supporters really expect, already there are those saying not high enough profile!

Hindsight is of course wonderful.
I will omit Hurst because I always thought that was crazy. Lambert and Cook were decent appointments for us in our then current position, they both though didn't bring their right hand man in with them and maybe that was the problem, who knows?
These guys (if as reported it is the two of them) are a possible new dawn and let's be clear, if it goes sour then who will our target be next time, Mike Bassett?
We need to give them three years - although that's easier said than done.
Ideally I would have secured them on a pre contract and let Colin loose for the remainder of the season.

Good or bad!
My mate Epping Mike is a man in the motor trade and he (nor his fellow men) will ever buy a vehicle with a number plate on that has originated in the island of Ireland.
