I think McKenna wants players comfortable on the ball in that back 3 though - not saying it'll be seen as his primary position but he could be preferred to Burgess. Playing left side of a 3 in L1 is a different kettle of fish to the same position in the Premier League and you could probably level your criticism at Tyrone Mings to begin with here. | | | |

Well, Brentford have triggered a 1 year extension so Thompson is only under contract until June 2023. He might not be on huge wages as he joined Championship Brentford on a free from Arsenal, but I think he'd have his sights on a decent Championship club (which Town could possibly be in the summer). | |

If he plays like he did for Swindon at PR last season, I'd be more than happy. However, if he was performing to that level every game he wouldn't be on loan to us and he'd be a regular starter in the Brentford first team. Nevertheless, a few good displays from here to the end of the season I'd be more than pleased with. On paper, he looks our best candidate at LWB, but as we all know football isn't played on paper so lets see what unfolds. It's a good opportunity for him. | |
