Poisoned chalice - Ipswich managers 17:47 - Feb 9 with 1320 viewsJamiebed

Other than Paul Hurst at non-league Grimsby, none of our former managers or caretaker managers, are currently managing. This is surprising considering how many we've been through lately. Possibly boring, but true.

Age takes care of Royle, Burley, McCarthy. Keane is mad, Lambert full of wind, Jim’s maybe a bit unlucky, Cook is waiting for the right job, Hurst is in a job.

Big insult to wind there Churchers.

I'm bloody brilliant at wind.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

And, as good as MM was, Mogga was our best manager since Burley too.

MM is simply between jobs and managed in the Championship since leaving us. Keane may well soon be managing again. Jewell had been out of management for a long time before he was given the opportunity to fail with us. Lambert has probably damaged his reputation enough to never manage at a level that he is willing to accept the salary again. It wasn't just with us that he failed.

The idea that most of our ex-managers cannot get a job at this level let alone above, is testament to the dreadful recruitment we did in appointing them.

Perhaps they have made the decision to go down a couple of levels to rebuild their managerial reputations? (In Hurst and Cook’s case). You certainly aren’t in a position of strength if you lost your last job after it finished rather abruptly.

Mogga was only caretaker for a couple of games after Burley was sacked. I think they were both draws.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over
