I think there is a league inbetween

Arsenal etc are top tier and I think we are 3rd tier but I might be wrong

I also think we’re South so possibly have to win league, then beat top of North equivalent.

Yes, they go third tier to second tier but it is still a pyramid so have to play the winner of the other third tier league.

Second tier is as per championship to premier league however.

Top Tier of womens football (Premier League)

second Tier of womens football (Championship)

Third tier of womens football has a North & South league that Ipswich Ladies are in

FA Women's National League South (The current League Table where we are sitting top)

FA Women's National League North

I believe who ever top the table in the FA Women's National League South & FA Women's National League North will play in a play off at the end of the season. The winners will go on to play in the Championship next season

They would go into the championship so one below.

Southampton have 6 games in hand and can go 6 points clear but we have to play them at home and they have to go to Oxford which is very tough place to get points. . Gonna be tight.

We also play that game against Southampton last day of the season.

3rd April. Few games after including a tough Oxford at home.

So only the team that finishes top gets a chance of promotion, and that’s via a playoff match? Wow that’s a tough league to get out of..

It needs restructuring really but it's just because there has been so little money. They need to push to get more teams professional and expand the WSL or get the championship professional. The lower leagues are so mismatched even within the teams that are in them.

I think it's a knock on from covid. There was no relegation for the last 2 seasons and they promoted a couple of teams so it needs rebalancing.

There are a number of upwardly mobile clubs and it's in the interests of the game to get this levelled.

There will remain little money unless more people decide they want to watch women's football.

You'd think they could provide a promotion place for both league winners at least. One relegation from a 12 team league allows a huge amount of leeway for poor sides.

Both Southampton and Bridgwater Utd were good enough to dump Championship sides out of the FA Cup, so it's hardly like there's an unbridgeable gulf there.
