Good business to tie young Wesley down to a longer deal 14:12 - May 16 with 1608 views

Let's be honest. Coming from Fleetwood I'd imagine he was on a lot less than many of the other players that came in last summer and, as player of the season, he deserved parity in that respect.

Makes sense to extend his years with the new wage, he's happy he's being valued, we protect our asset as such, hopefully also shows other players that they will be treated the same if they can reach his levels and acts as a big hands off to interested clubs, not that I expect many would have been able to offer what it would have taken us to think about letting him go.

This is a really key bit of business. He would without doubt be a target for Championshio clubs. Hopefully this encourages other key players to stay (Morsy to name but one), and helps us to attract new talent to get us promoted.

I think there will be a bit of humanity with this deal. If Morsy wants to go back North I can't see us standing in his way. We will come away financially better off if he does go. Or we keep a solid player if he doesn't.
