Although she currently appears on the Suffolk FA website as a sine die suspension presumably while waiting that disciplinary hearing. I guess I don’t pay a lot of attention to the ladies match reports but you’d think something so serious might have been mentioned before now. Unless it was in the changing room area and nojj nobody except the ref knew about it | |

The club itself will have the in's and outs as they most likely would have had a paper trial and had explanations from the official and supporting witnesses involved in the case too. | |

It seems a rather lengthy ban, I'm sure that Rooney and Keane etc did worse every match. Di Canio got 11 matches, so around 100 days for pushing over the ref during a match.
Looks more like a case of the male referee having a bruised ego and pushing for a long ban unless anyone can shed more light that is available in the report.

It's the physical contact with a referee which has made this more serious. This leads to standard minimum suspension of 112 days, and the abuse towards to ref has clearly compounded things. It was clearly not deemed to be an assault which leads to a minimum suspension of 5 years. In the circumstances, perhaps she was lucky not to be charged with the more serious offence, which may explain why she and the club accepted the lesser charge. Things have clearly been beefed up since the Di Canio days, which is why, whilst you may see professional players surrounding referees these days, physical contact is a bit of a no-no. Who can say what happened without being there, but I assume it was a bit more aggressive than a mere batting away of a hand. In this connection, it is interesting to see that neither the club nor player appear to have contested the charge, despite their knowing the likely sanction. This is contrast to, say, the Morsy suspension when I think the club did put in a defence. [Post edited 11 Jun 2022 17:42]
