I’ve never had Dandelion & Burdock, but I have had Vimto. Up there with Irn-bru in the world of ghastly.

I remember a 5 a side tournament when I was about 8, started to feel poorly just as it finished.
Some kind soul gave me a can of Dr Pepper for my journey home. The resulting sickness bug was just carrots and sweetcorn in a Dr Pepper scented gravy.

I remember a 5 a side tournament when I was about 8, started to feel poorly just as it finished.
Some kind soul gave me a can of Dr Pepper for my journey home. The resulting sickness bug was just carrots and sweetcorn in a Dr Pepper scented gravy.

Is Dr Pepper like root beer? I kind of thought it was so I always stayed away.
When I was a kid I was in America and a family friend gave me a drink in a paper cup the size of a dustbin. I was as thrirsty as hell and it was boiling hot so i drank as much as I could get down me in one go. Turns out it was root beer (which I had never heard of before) and I think i must have turned instantly green.

Ive avoided it for 40 years so can't be too specific.

Used to able to get Dr. Peppers on draught in Woolworths but only other place you could get it was if you knew someone on Bentwaters. As eleven year olds we would go swimming at St Matthews, then drink a couple of Dr Peppers in Woolies before cycling home across Christchurch Park spectacularly burping. Happy days.

Sarsaparilla is like root beer.
We didn't have sarsaparilla at home but when I was little we used to visit northern relatives and they often had it. Tastes of liquorice, absolutely foul but my brothers liked it. |  |
