He was my favourite signing too for a while. I kept thinking he would come good but I was glad when we sold him.
Many others were wrong too as the in a Poll on here a lot of people picked him as our best signing.
I also got it badly wrong on Piggot and lost £50 betting on him being League 1 top goal scorer.That will make a few people laugh.
However I did think Wes Burns was one of our best signings straight away. I thought he was amazing against us for Fleetwood so was super excited when we signed him. |  | | |

I found myself wishing we still had him the other day too. Don't have a playmaker 10, especially now celina's not happening. It's not chaplin's game, definitely not edwards', and as talented as aluko is i'm not sure playing through balls is his first thought. | |

There is something in what you say. Fraser ended up as the player with the most chances created per game, and only Chaplin and Celina created more chances, despite Fraser only playing half a season. [Post edited 15 Jul 2022 7:32]

He certainly wasn't what you would call an athletic or showy player, and this probably sealed his fate. But he was quick thinking, and saw an opportunity in a blink of an eye. In contrast, Aluko, say, might jink one way and another before making a pass, but if you are trying to break down a stubborn defence, those extra seconds merely gives the opposition the chance to regroup. While he's more talented than Pigott he's similar in that he's just too slow and immobile, especially for how KMc wants to play, that's my impression anyway.
It didn't take long to decide he wasn't for us once Jan came around. |  |

To be fair you were right to be excited, he had just had a great season and he's definitely got ability. He stepped into a bit of a car crash of a club though, was shoe horned in on the left and never got going. I think he probably checked out quite quickly after that when he wasn't getting a chance in his preferred position. It's a funny one, had he signed for us today into this set up things might be very different. |  |
