Was really impressed with Greg Leigh having seen him in couple of our pre-season friendlies - I thought Davis would have to be pretty damn good to keep him out of the team...turns out he is.
I'd actually like to see them playing together in the same team at some point - I think Leigh could link up with Davis the way JD does with Burns on the right and cause serious problems for other teams; bit gung-ho to have 2 centre-backs doing that, but might be an option if we're chasing a game or struggling to break down a team that are parking the bus. |  |

Strange how opinions vary. My mate (who has seen him three times) and I weren't wholly convinced by him yesterday. He wasn't really tested defensively, and had loads of space on the left going forward, but never got beyond his man because he cut in every time. He strikes me as being a right-footer operating on the leff, so in some ways he doesn't strike me as that different to Thompson. [Post edited 14 Aug 2022 17:00]

I'm sure the gentleman who was standing behind me at FGR and who declared that "he looks pretty rubbish" in the first half before he'd even completed 90 minutes in total over two matches knows best though. What motivates such people? Why spend a huge amount of time and money following a sport that you clearly don't have a clue about? |  |

The fact we have two very good left backs at this club now, for £1m between them blows my mind if I’m honest.
We spent years with only a left back and a makeshift right back, I honestly didn’t think them days would ever end.
